After lossing his wife and two sons in the 70s, he contracted an illness that made him loss his gaming skills. He could not also work given that he had no money for the treatment.

Norbert OWONA virtually spent his days and nights sleeping on the veranda of stores when they closed and wondered helplessly during the day. After Equinoxe's investigative journalism caught an eye on him, he was invited to an emission on TV. There he tabled his plea.

" my own country virtually erased me from their history and allowed me to die in misery. When Song fell sick, he was rushed to France for treatment and still holds a post in Cameroon's sporting life as coach of the junior Lions"

His lamentations caught the interest of Samuel Eto'o Fils who did not hesitate to come to his help.

There are many of them old players which Cameroon has virtually erased off the scales of their sporting history, his case just being a glaring one.

Sub-Saharan Africa is now the world's hotspot of violent Islamic extremism

 NAIROBI, Kenya According to a recent assessment by the U.N.'s office for international development, s ub-Saharan Africa is now the world's hotspot of violent Islamic extremism , and people are joining more frequently for economic reasons than theological ones. When compared to the figures in a previous research published in 2017, the UNDP report released on Tuesday stated that 92% of recruits to extremist groups are joining for better jobs and escalating poverty. It claimed that the COVID-19 epidemic, rising inflation, and climate change had all had a negative impact on the livelihoods of several Africans.     According to the report, the number of persons joining extremist groups for religious reasons has dropped by 57%.   In eight African nations—Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, and Sudan—nearly 2,200 persons were questioned for the report. Magnitude 7.8 Earthquake Slammed Turkey and Syria on Monday

  According to officials and agencies, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that slammed Turkey and Syria early on Monday left more than 4,300 people dead and thousands injured.
