Daphne, real names NJIE Efundem Daphne is a Cameroonian afro pop artist. She was born on the 20th of September 1989 in Buea in the South west Region of Cameroon but she grew up in the Littoral Region - Douala.

Daphne NJIE studied psychology and law in the University of Buea. Her love for music and singing started back in her primary school days. She sang in her school choir and in the church choir. Daphne had her first tour to the studio while at the University of Buea, doing back up vocals for other artists. With this opportunity given her, she seized it to the fullest and started recording her own personal songs.  Daphné Njie's music genre is a blend of afro pop,  pop, afro beat and makossa class.

"My inspiration came from God first and my parents. I listen to both gospel and circular music. Gospel artists like Frank Edwards and Cece Winnas give me the zeal to sing.  I am also pushed to work harder by the pieces dropped by icons such as Bebe Manga Tiwa Savage and Rihanna".

The years 2017 and 2018 have seen Daphne's rise to fame above and beyond the national scenes. She now makes big tours to in countries such as Ivory Coast and even the United States of America.

Her latest songs such as "Promets Moi, Jusqu'à la gare, My lover, Calée, Madingwa" amongst others sell world wide.

She was AFRIMMA'S best female artist in Central Africa in 2016.

She is currently signed to Steven's Music Ent. LLC of Dr. Nkeng Stephens.

September 20th will make her 29.

When compared to the figures in a previous research published in 2017, the UNDP report released on Tuesday stated that 92% of recruits to extremist groups are joining for better jobs and escalating poverty. It claimed that the COVID-19 epidemic, rising inflation, and climate change had all had a negative impact on the livelihoods of several Africans.     According to the report, the number of persons joining extremist groups for religious reasons has dropped by 57%.   In eight African nations—Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, and Sudan—nearly 2,200 persons were questioned for the report.
