World Cup 2018 Opening Game. Russia 5 - 0 Saudi Arabia.

The world cup finally takes off today 14th June 2018. The opening game played between Russian National Team under the supervision of head coach  Stanislav Cherchesov and Saudi Arabian Green Falcons under  Juan Antonio Pizzi.

This opening game saw Russia emerging victorious. This match took place at Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow with Nestor Pitana presiding as main referee

The very first goal of the world cup 2018 turnament was scored by Russian player, Y. Gazinskiy, 13 minutes into the first half of the game.

The second goal came in again for the Russian side at 42 minutes into the game, scored by D. Cheryshev.

At the the close of the first lapse of the game, Russia had the lead with a 2,  and null for Saudi Arabia.

The second half of the game saw the Russian team adding a 3rd goal scored by A. Dzyuba.

The fourth goal is scored by Cheryshev again at about 90+1 minutes,  and A.  Golovin closing up with the 5th goal at 90+4 minutes of extra time.

Russia has qualified for the world cup game 10 times and Saudi Arabia 5 times as of Wikipedia online statistics.

So far it has been an awesome start  for the Russian side and the team goes home shoulders high hoping to make it big in the competition.
