SACRED HEART COLLEGE IN FLAMES!

Sacred Heart college Mankon is one of the most popular schools in the north-west region and belongs to the Roman Catholic mission. This school is well known for her excellent performance in the past decades as far as national competitive exams are concerned.

On Monday 18th of September 2017 at about 8:30-9pm, an unidentified person or group of persons set a dormitory in the school ablaze. Before the flames could be subdued, it had already devoured all the contents of the dormitory. Fortunately, no human loss was incurred because the burning took place at a time when the students had gone to the chapel for evening prayers.

This act kept the parents of students in this school in a situation of great unrest as thy feared their children could have been hurt in the incident. The school premises was proliferated by a good number of parents, some even took home their kids and vowed sending them back only when total calm has been ensured in the school premises.

The governor of the northwest region answered present at sacred heart college campus, prospected the damage and promised tighter security measures so as to avoid situations as such from reoccurring.

The obvious reason for setting ablaze the school according several sources is that they had resumed school full time, against the which a pro crises faction.

The question now is; Was burning the school the only way to pass through the point? Did this act actually stop classes? The school is a citadel of success that is capable of producing best seeds in anglophone Cameroon, seeds that would not only be decisive on the future of Cameroon, but of the world at large. Many see this act as uncalled for because it just went forth to rupture the the foundation for education which the quest of anglophone Cameroon seeks to ameliorate through their peaceful demonstrations.
Sacred Heart College was not the only thing that was touched. In the real sense, the Lord’s anointed was touched.
In all, calm is what the people now wish for with all their heart. Calm for their families, calm for their loved ones.
