After the hurdles surrounding the October 7th presidential elections and all the prejudice involved, Prof. Maurice Kamto decides to make a move off the busy and stressful struggle in the fight against electoral holdups and the verdicts of the 2018 electoral results.

 Perhaps he has left the struggle in the hands of posterity, while better arming himself and putting in place the right strategies to be used in 2025.


Or rather, he is going to place his aces and attack back from the other end where the forces of law and order can't reach.
On the day of the swearing in of H.E Paul Biya,  Prof. Kamto and his team were arrested and later released in a few hours,  after which he was placed under home arrest with heavy security  (gendarmerie and police forces) restricting his liberal movements.

Sub-Saharan Africa is now the world's hotspot of violent Islamic extremism

 NAIROBI, Kenya According to a recent assessment by the U.N.'s office for international development, s ub-Saharan Africa is now the world's hotspot of violent Islamic extremism , and people are joining more frequently for economic reasons than theological ones. When compared to the figures in a previous research published in 2017, the UNDP report released on Tuesday stated that 92% of recruits to extremist groups are joining for better jobs and escalating poverty. It claimed that the COVID-19 epidemic, rising inflation, and climate change had all had a negative impact on the livelihoods of several Africans.     According to the report, the number of persons joining extremist groups for religious reasons has dropped by 57%.   In eight African nations—Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, and Sudan—nearly 2,200 persons were questioned for the report. Magnitude 7.8 Earthquake Slammed Turkey and Syria on Monday

  According to officials and agencies, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that slammed Turkey and Syria early on Monday left more than 4,300 people dead and thousands injured. Aid organizations are especially concerned about northwest Syria, where more than 4 million people were already reliant on humanitarian assistance and thousands of buildings collapsed in both nations.
