By the end of the October 07th vote casts, the vote count immidiately took off with two main candidates proving dominant... Maurice Kamto of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement and Paul Biya of the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement were the two candidates that topped the contest, with Kamto standing out in several electoral polls. The news of Kamto's successes took little time to go viral on social media due to the acceptance of android devices in the polling stations. Candidates Like Cabral Libii and Joshua Osih came next in the line, then Ndam Njoya, Serge Espoir  Matomba.

In the morning of 8th October 2018, some social media platforms after supposedly analysing the totality of all vote casts, made public the victory of Maurice Kamto. "Jeunesse du Cameroun" is a case in Point.
Nonetheless, Caneroonians wait for the 21 day duration to be over and the electoral results officially proclaimed.

Sub-Saharan Africa is now the world's hotspot of violent Islamic extremism

 NAIROBI, Kenya According to a recent assessment by the U.N.'s office for international development, s ub-Saharan Africa is now the world's hotspot of violent Islamic extremism , and people are joining more frequently for economic reasons than theological ones. When compared to the figures in a previous research published in 2017, the UNDP report released on Tuesday stated that 92% of recruits to extremist groups are joining for better jobs and escalating poverty. It claimed that the COVID-19 epidemic, rising inflation, and climate change had all had a negative impact on the livelihoods of several Africans.     According to the report, the number of persons joining extremist groups for religious reasons has dropped by 57%.   In eight African nations—Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, and Sudan—nearly 2,200 persons were questioned for the report.
