A portion of the first consignment of presidential laptops arrived Cameroon today. It contained a total of 40,000laptops designed under the Mark PBHEV, meaning " Paul Biya's Higher Educational Vision". According to the minister of higher education Jacques Famé Ndongo, the second shipment of 40,000 will be arriving this Sunday the 24th of December 2017.
The minister of higher education also said the universities to benefit from this first consignment of laptops are University of Yaounde 1 and 2.
The second consignment will be distributed to the university of Bamenda, Buea and Douala while the last will go to the university of Ngaoundere, Maroua and Dschang, then to some selected private institutions.
The controversy behind this grants is what lingers in the mouths of all citizens. "Could this be a campaign strategy, ate the computers really gifts or a portion of our money reinvested on us, did the sum come from his private pocket, is it true the laptop project increased the country's foreign debts"? All rhetorics the citizens wish could have answers.
